Today it hosts the annual Hemingway Look-Alike Contest during Hemingway Days in late July, drawing bearded contestants and spectators to Duval Street.
The bar sits at the corner of Duval and Greene Street, the busiest intersection in Key West. Buses drop groups at the Duval and Greene Street intersection and stage 2–3 blocks away; there is no bus parking on Duval Street itself.
